The new Challenger MT600C Series offers serious professional farms, contractors, and agribusiness users outstanding performance, economy, and control. The five new models, built to the highest engineering standards, are Challenger’s most powerful conventional wheeled tractors offering maximum powers from 270hp to 370hp.
“During the past 20 years Challenger has earned an enviable reputation for introducing highly efficient productive tractors,” says Richard Miller, ChallengerProduct Marketing Manager. “The MT800 and MT700 Series set the benchmark for tracked machines. The MT900 Series reinforced this position in the articulated steer bracket and now the new MT600C Series sets the standard in the conventional wheeled sector.”
Unrivaled performance and economy Powered by the latest SisuDiesel 8.4 liter CTA, four-valve cylinder, common rail EcoTech engines, the MT600C Series returns best in class performance and fuel economy. The top of the range, 370hp (max power) MT685C is one of the first tractors to use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust after-treatment as standard. SCR, which is an option on all the other models in the range, is a proven technology used in truck and bus engines and is the preferred route chosen by many major manufacturers in these sectors. The state-of-the-art system cuts fuel consumption by at least 5%, maximizes power, and produces much lower noxious emissions compared with alternative designs. SCR technology saves fuel by allowing the engine designers to tune the engine for optimum output and economy and then treat the exhaust gases after combustion with AdBlue (aqueous urea), via an injection system, developed in conjunction with Bosch. A small Adblue tank by the main fuel tank holds the liquid, which is consumed at a ratio of about 3% of the fuel consumption. The tank holds enough Adblue for at least two diesel fills.
Economy, output, and performance are further enhanced by the new TechStar CVT transmission with the new Power Management operating system. Built specifically for extreme duty, high hp operations, the TechStar unit now offers even more control.
